The Truffula Tree | Monterey Cypress, Ellen Browning Scripps Park, La Jolla

I am the Lorax. I speak for the trees. I speak for the trees for the trees have no tongues.

The super cool Truffula Tree in Scripps Park, La Jolla. This tree is actually a Monterey Cypress but it's thought to be the inspiration for Dr Seuss' Truffula trees in The Lorax. Dr Seuss (Theodor Seuss Geisel) lived in La Jolla and could see the tree from the observation tower in his home.

I shot this on a sunset in April. There were low clouds on the horizon and right above me condensing as the wind came ashore. I didn't think the sunset would turn out but I stuck around and luckily there were also some higher clouds in the sky that caught that last light with a great pink glow.
